Good to know when renting a house

Most villas require a minimum stay of 7 nights.
During peak holiday seasons, such as summer or Christmas, the minimum stay may be extended to 10 nights or more. Shorter stays may be possible during the low season or as a last-minute option if availability permits, but this varies by property. If you’re unsure, our team can provide detailed information on the requirements for each villa. Please note that shorter stays often come with higher nightly rates to account for operational costs.

Once we have received the entire rent payment, we will send you the instructions to the house. If you have made a reservation for a house requiring the remaining rent to be paid upon arrival, you will be sent arrival details 4 weeks prior to your arrival. Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by either the House Mallorca villa manager or the homeowner.

On the day of arrival you can check-in between 12:00 and 16:00. On the day the of departure we ask you to check out before 12:00 to allow sufficient time for preparation for the next guests.

In most cases, a damage deposit (or security deposit) is indeed required. This information and the amount of the damage deposit is given to you in the rental conditions of the villa. Depending on the villa, the deposit may be requested by Villanovo or directly by the owner or his representative. The deposit will be paid by credit card or bank transfer but in most cases it will be in the form of a pre-authorization on your credit card. When the deposit is paid to us it will be returned to you approximately 15 days after the end of your stay.

Typically, a deposit of 50% of the total price is required to secure the booking of your holiday rental. Some properties may have different payment policies, more details will be available on the payment page. We are always open to discussing different payment terms, just reach out.

The rental price generally includes the use of the villa, its amenities, utilities, and a standard cleaning service.
Depending on the property, this may also cover essentials such as Wi-Fi, pool maintenance, and gardening. However, services such as additional housekeeping, private chefs, or chauffeurs are usually not included in the base price but can be arranged through our concierge team. It’s important to review the specific terms for each villa to understand what is included, as some properties may offer complimentary extras like welcome baskets or airport transfers. For tailored services, contact us ahead of your stay.

Pets are allowed in some villas, but not all properties are pet-friendly.
If you’re traveling with pets, it’s essential to inform us in advance so we can recommend villas that accommodate animals. Certain villas may have restrictions on the type or size of pets permitted, and additional fees for cleaning or security deposits may apply. For guests without pets, rest assured that pet-free villas are also available for those who prefer allergy-free or animal-free environments. Our team is happy to help find the perfect property for your needs.

Booking additional services like a private chef is easy through our concierge team.
Once your villa reservation is confirmed, let us know your specific requests, whether it’s a daily breakfast service, a one-off gourmet dinner, or a week-long full-service dining experience. We’ll connect you with professional chefs skilled in Mediterranean, international, or custom cuisines. Other services, such as chauffeurs, babysitters, or spa treatments, can also be added. For the best experience, we recommend requesting additional services at least a week before your arrival to ensure availability.

In many cases, villa viewings can be arranged by appointment, but this depends on availability.
If the villa is occupied or booked, visits may not be possible to respect the privacy of current guests. For high-value bookings or long-term rentals, property owners are usually more accommodating with viewings. Virtual tours or detailed video walkthroughs can also be provided for clients who cannot visit in person. Contact us as early as possible to coordinate a visit or explore other options to view the property.

Yes, many of our villas are designed with families in mind and include child-friendly amenities.

Yes, airport transfers can be arranged as part of our concierge service.

For added convenience, chauffeurs can be booked for the duration of your stay to provide on-demand transportation. While airport transfers are not typically included in the villa rental price, some properties may offer them as part of a package, so it’s worth checking the specific terms of your booking.

The cancellation policy depends on the villa and the time of year.

If you booked far in advance, often a partly refund is offered if cancellation occurs within a specified period after booking. Closer to the arrival date, partial or no refunds may apply, especially during high-demand seasons. Some villas offer flexible cancellation policies or credit for future bookings, but these vary by property. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances, as the cancellation terms will be strictly enforced.
